Biography

Practice Experience

Merryn Wier is an Associate Attorney at CBS&H, where she practices in the areas of employment law, family law, and civil litigation. She is dedicated to helping clients navigate complex legal issues with clarity and confidence, combining strong analytical skills with a practical, client-centered approach.

Personal Bio

Before joining CBSH, Merryn gained experience in employment litigation, where she developed skills in legal research, writing, and case strategy. She has worked on matters involving discrimination, retaliation, and wage disputes, as well as family law cases involving divorce, custody, post-decree issues, and both orders for protection and harassment restraining orders. Merryn approaches each case with attention to detail and a commitment to achieving fair and effective resolutions for her clients.

While earning her J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, Merryn served as President of Delta Theta Phi and as a 3L Class Representative. She also worked as a Research Assistant to Professor David Grenardo, contributing to award-winning scholarship on civility in the legal profession and collaborating on international research examining racism in sports. In addition to her academic work, Merryn served as a mentor to newer law students through the Tourek-Marvin Peer Mentor Program.

Outside of her practice, Merryn enjoys volunteering in the legal community, golfing, skiing, and exploring the Twin Cities restaurant scene. She strives to make the legal process accessible and less intimidating for clients, ensuring they feel supported and informed every step of the way.
