Mark W. Gehan
Mark W. Gehan is retired from the practice of law, but during his career he practiced in the areas of civil and criminal litigation, appeals, public sector labor law, professional responsibility and licensing. As an Assistant Ramsey County Attorney from 1971–76, Mark handled felony prosecutions and real estate condemnation matters. He was the Metropolitan Area District Prosecutor from 1976–77. He joined Collins, Buckley, Sauntry & Haugh in 1978.
Mark is active in local and state bar activities. He served as President of the Ramsey County Bar Association from 1990–91 and as President of the Minnesota State Bar Association from 1998–99. From 1986–94 Mark served on the St. Paul Charter Commission and was the President of that body from 1988–94. Mark was a member of the State Board of Public Defense from 1981–87 and a Supreme Court Appointee to the Minnesota Judicial Selections Commission from 1999–2005.
Mark has also been appointed as Special Master in several federal cases including the Minnesota tobacco litigation from 1997–98 and Garcia, et al. v. The Metro Gang Strike Force, et al. from 2010–11.
