Practice Experience
Mr. O'Connell is a lawyer and a Certified Public Accountant (Inactive). He is engaged in the following areas of practice: real estate law; probate law, tax law; estate planning including, wills, trusts, powers of attorney and health care directives; elder law; general corporate law; purchase and sale of businesses.

Before entering law school, Mr. O'Connell served as an officer-aviator in the United States Naval Reserve in 1969 and 1970. From 1971 to 1973, Mr. O'Connell was on the staff of the Office of the Public Examiner. He was a member of the State Auditor's office from 1973 until 1979, during which time he was responsible for some of the largest and most sophisticated audits of that office. During this time, Mr. O'Connell was a lecturer and instructor at professional education seminars.

Mr. O'Connell is active in the Elder Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association. Mr. O'Connell has been a lecturer and/or instructor at Real Estate, Probate and Elder Law Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars. Mr. O'Connell is a Director of the Ramsey County Bar Foundation.
