Collins, Buckley, Sauntry & Haugh, P.L.L.P. has represented insurance carriers and their insured since the firm’s inception. When predecessor law firms are taken into account, our services to the insurance industry extends back more than 50 years. Fully half of the partners are active members of the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association.
Collins, Buckley, Sauntry & Haugh represents national and regional insurance carriers in the area of both commercial and personal insurance coverages. In recent years, this representation has included the defense of tort claims such as Asbestos and Dalkon Shield product litigation, agri-business losses, toxic tort and environmental cases. At the appellate level, our firm has done precedent setting work on insurance issues.
Our firm has represented carriers in personal lines litigation arising out of auto claims on a first and third party basis, claims against insured property owners, fire losses, and homeowner’s claims. We have extensive experience in the defense of errors and omissions claims against insurance agents and brokers. We have been called upon to author articles and address seminars both on behalf of agents and brokers and also within the legal community.
A substantial portion of our insurance practice includes the defense of Workers’ Compensation claims.
Our accomplishments as defense lawyers have brought us recognition from our peers in the defense industry and the defense bar. We have been asked to review settled claims files of house counsel for national carriers, we have often been appointed as arbitrators in disputes, and we have served as speakers at educational seminars for attorneys and claims managers. In cases where insurers have established relationships with other law firms, we are often selected as conflict counsel for coverage litigation and appeals.
