Family Law Services

Collins, Buckley, Sauntry & Haugh P.L.L.P. has a substantial and successful family law practice. We have successfully represented clients in marital dissolutions involving complex business and pension valuations, tax issues, child custody issues, child support, spousal maintenance and property division. We have retained experts for business valuations who have successfully defended their valuation before the Minnesota courts. We also have retained psychiatrists and psychologists to assist us in custody matters. We have the resources and expertise necessary to pursue and enforce your rights.

If we have not been able to negotiate a fair settlement of all issues for our clients, we have zealously represented them at the trial level as well as before the Minnesota Appellate and Supreme Courts.

We also represent clients in paternity cases and represent persons in post-decree matters involving child support or maintenance modifications at both the trial and appellate court levels. We frequently prepare antenuptial agreements for persons about to be married who wish to fix their legal rights in the event of a divorce or death.

Our attorneys have extensive experience successfully handling all family law issues. One of our attorneys is the author of Marital Dissolution, a guide for family law attorneys, and has been named as one of the best family lawyers in America. He also served as a referee in Ramsey County Family Court before returning to private practice at Collins, Buckley Sauntry & Haugh. Two attorneys practice exclusively in the area of family law, and several other attorneys at Collins, Buckley Sauntry & Haugh represent clients in family law matters, as well as other areas of the law. Our attorneys have frequently been asked to speak at educational seminars for attorneys and at divorce clinics in the metro area sponsored by dissolution support groups. All those practicing family law are members of the Family Law Section of the Bar Association, and two of attorneys are members of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Two of our attorneys are also Certified Public Accountants who are available to assist with complex business and tax issues. We also have top-notch paralegals and legal assistants working with the lawyers drafting documents, doing file organizing and preparing for trial, all of which allow us to provide you with the best service possible while containing legal costs.

We at Collins, Buckley Sauntry & Haugh believe that persons involved in emotional family law issues expect and deserve the best possible representation at a reasonable cost. We strive to treat everyone fairly and resolve issues expeditiously and economically, with the least amount of acrimony for all concerned, while zealously representing our clients’ interests within the law.
